I took my Daughter today for her first disc golf experience which worked out really good because it's extremely short. She's six and I have a tendency to start her out on activities fully committed like hey let's go on a hike, five miles later she gets tired and we have to turn around and go back, but this course is probably 400yards start to finish. Nine baskets played both ways and wooden 2x4 markers for T boxes on less than half the holes and not sure about others, but a good little pitch and put or place to bring a youngin. Also, I don't know if your really able to legally get to it without trespassing if your not a student. I think I saw a no trespassing sign coming in but didn't slow down to read it.

While I truly appreciate the chance to be on UIW campus and being on the banks of the San Antonio River, the course layout does not do this property justice. 9 baskets are crammed in a really tight space that almost feels like your playing a miniature course on an elementary school campus. The course plays backwards after you complete hole 9, which you'll need to keep your eyes peeled to find the teestrips. Since the course is situated on the banks of the river and there's natural springs around the area, the ground stays pretty saturated after any rain. Most of the tees were wet the day I played. This course can be a nice warm up to work on your 100 putts and your approach game in preparation to go play Trinity's course. As much as I wanted to like this course, this one misses the mark.

Upon hearing there was a course on the UIW campus, I had to check it out. Once I arrived, I saw a basket with a 1, as well as another number.. Confused, I looked 50 feet down the fairway and saw 3 more baskets spaced 50 feet apart with the same number system.. Thinking I had step foot onto a very nice disc golf putting green with multiple baskets, I soon learned that was not the case. It was the full 9 hole (only 5 baskets with a 1/14, 2/15, 3/16, 4/17, 18 or something close to this) .. If you are a very new player or max drives that top out at around 80ft, you will love this course, Otherwise this is a glorified putting green with really nice baskets. Hopefully once they get a few more baskets they can space them out towards the empty practice field in the back and make a nice 9 hole.
